Back to work I go.
Not that I haven't been working. I have been.
It's just that I have had the better part of December and January off.
And now what am I doing? Getting in van and driving around UK?Europe for a month.
Not exactly my idea of fun but I am doing it anyway.
I love to mix. I tend to love the bands I am working with. Its traveling that I hate.
Busses make things a lot easier. You know were you are going to sleep. You have a home base.
Van tours suck. But here I go again.
As usual I say this will be the last time I get in a van.
This time I mean it.

I dont really know where I am for a change.
I have been told we are in Switzerland but am waiting for someone to prove it to me.
Tonights show was at a club called Fri Son. 1500 or so. We are only carrying FOH/Monitors and outboard so I am dealing with in house systems. Today was an older Turbosund rig. It wasnt pretty but it got the job done. I have been trying some new things each night. Tonight was all about compressing the guitar subgroup. It definetly fattened up their tones coming off stage. And I was doing significantly less in terms of fader moves. The bulk of this little European adventure is being spent at festivals. With the other exception being 2 dates supporting Coldplay and 1 date supporting U2. Good fun and interesting to see how other organizations do things.
Anti and I are once again carrying a pair of Yamaha PM5DRH desks at both FOH and Monitors.
We are both using quite a bit more outboard then the last time out. I now have 2 Midas XL42 pre amp/eq, 2 Distressors, 2 XTA D2 dynamic comps, 1 XTA C2 comp, TC D2 delay and an XTA SIDD across the stereo L/R. Tim is once again out with us trying to make it sound how it should.

Tokyo is the maddest place i have ever been.
The city's timing. It'clock speed. It moves faster than anyplace i have seen.

That was as far as i could get in Tokyo, while writing about Tokyo.
I think that was around 2 and half months ago.
Since then i have done a 6 week US tour and am now getting ready to leave for UK/Europe.
Three and a half weeks which will bring me to the end of April.
After that i have 3 weeks off in May.

It is now 2 and half weeks later and i am home after doing the UK/Europe for 3 weeks plus.
We carried full sound and intelligent lights and rented cans locally at each show.
Venues ranged from 1500 to 6000.
This makes it 3 and a half months since i started writing this post.
