List of things I am carrying in Tumi computer/junk bag:
-Fujitsu Lifebook S6120D laptop computer*
It is fairly small and powerful and holds a large chunk of items relevant to my life at the moment.
-Apple 40Gig Ipod*
The third such similar device I have owned, but by and far the best of its kind. Combined with a pair of Shure In Ear Monitors I can have decent sound almost anywhere.
-Shure E2 In Ear Monitor
A good sounding pair of ear plugs. I am curious how more expensive models sound.
-Cheap Sony Ear Bud heapdhones
Backup in the event I lose the Shures. Was originally a backup for the other pair of Sony ear buds I used to cary.
-Casio EX-S3 Digital camera*
3.2 mega pixels for those that care. For those that don’t, it is small with a large lcd screen and takes so-so pictures. It is tiny without feeling uncomfortably small like some electronic devices. I am however forced to carry the docking station/charger.
-Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP*
I am frequently bored while on the road. I don’t really like playing games on the computer so this things is perfect. I can play in my bunk or in a hotel room. Now anytime can be game time!
Unfortunately the adapter only works on 120v. What is up with that? Everything else I own works 220/120 except this thing. Bullshit.
-Games for Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP
Stuntman, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4, Big Game Hunter, The Punisher, Adventure, Namco Arcade Museum
-Motorola V600 Cell phone*
I like clam shell phones. This one sounds good and feels good in my hands. Another example of tiny without feeling uncomfortably small. Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein” sounds great on it. I play a lot of Pitfall on it and sometimes take pictures which until I get a blue tooth adapter for my computer will remain in the phone.
-Date Book/Calendar
-A bunch of pens
-Tooth brush and small tube of toothpaste
-Mixed bottle of aspirin, Tylenol, Aleve, Tylenol PM
-A few pair of foam ear plugs
-Wallet, Passport, house keys
-5 dollars Canadian
-USB jump drive thing
Backups of important stuff are kept on this thing.
Easiest way to transfer files between a mac and a pc.
No more burning discs for small files. Or even large ones now.
-Ethernet cable, fire wire cable, retractable phone cable, USB cable, USB light,
-24 slot DVD wallet with 30 movies stuffed into it.
-A few magazines, Wired, Magnet, NY Times Monday crossword puzzle.
-Books
Cities of Salt by Abdelrahman Munif, Hammer of The Gods The Led Zeppelin Story by Stepehn
Davis. The first was a gift from my father, the second is just good tour reading.
* Items with a * next to them also require a power supply.
Some of these power supplies are stylish and small and some are bulky and large.
I wish there was a standard electronic device power supply.
I currently carry 5 power supplies, a 6 foot 3 way US extension cord and a 3 way US power tap.
A bag of adapters for the UK/Europe/Australia/Etc.
